Cornelia W. Bodine, dau. of Wm. H. Bodine, was born in May 1868 in Monroe, Camden County.

Cornelia Bodine was 10 years old in 1880 and 31 in 1900 when she was living with her parents in Monroe Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey.

From St. Louis, Missouri Marriage Records:
Thomas Hulbert Drake of Chanute, Kansas AND Cornelia W. Bodine of Williamstown, New Jersey were married 22 Aug 1903 in St. Louis by Robert J. Canall, JP.

In the will of her father, 28 Aug 1908, she is called Cornelia B. Drake. Because her husband was 10 years younger than she, it appears she always reported the same age as her husband for herself. The Kansas (Chanute, Neosho County) birth record for their daughter, Leah (born 22 Dec 1904), shows her parents as T. H. Drake, age 25 and Cornelia Bodine, age 26.

In 1942, Thomas Hulbert Drake registered for the World War II draft in Evansville, Indiana and reported he was born 30 Sept 1881 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He stated his next of kin was Mrs. Cornelia Drake.

Thomas Hulbert Drake died 17 May 1963 in Wood County.

Thomas Drake was buried in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens, Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia.

Mrs. Cornelia Bodine Drake, 87, of 927 Lincoln-av, died at 2 a.m. today at Welborn Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Drake was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the D.A.R. Surviving are her husband, Thomas H.; a daughter, Miss Leah Bodine, of Evansville, and a sister, Miss Anne Harriet Bodine, Camden, N.J. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the J. Max Lowe Colonial Chapel. The Rev. W. Robert Webb will officiate. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Thomas Hubert [sic] Drake, a former Evansville oil producer, died at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital at Parkersburg, W. Va., last Friday. Funeral and burial services for the 81-year-old Mr. Drake, a victim of bone cancer, were at Parkersburg Saturday. Mr. Drake had drilled about 400 wells for oil in 13 states, stretching from West Virginia to Utah, before he became ill and retired in 1957. He then moved from Evansville to his native Parkersburg. He was bedfast the past year. He lived at Big Spring, Tex., and Owensboro, Ky., before moving to Evansville in 1939. His wells included ones in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. Mr. Drake was a cadet at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. from 1902 to 1904. He was in the oil business for more than 30 years. He was a charter member of the Evansville Pteroleum Club. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Leah Bodine Drake, former movie critic for the Evansville Courier and now an associate of a Swiss scientific and cultural foundation, and a sister-in-law, Anne H. Bodine, both of Parkersburg.
