Notes for: Joel Francis ("Frank") Bodine

In 1870-1880, the Joel 'Frank' Bodine family was living in Winslow Township, Camden County where Frank worked in the glass manufacturing business, probably associated with the family owned Williamstown Glass Works.

From Atlantic County, New Jersey Marriage Records:
J. Frank Bodine, 21, of Williamstown, son of William H. & Eliza E. Bodine AND Rebecca Brown, 18, of Tansboro, dau. of Rachel [sic] & Sarah Brown, were married 5 Oct 1867.

In 1850, Rebecca Brown, age 1, lived with her parents Richard & Sarah Brown, in Winslow, Camden County, New Jersey.

In 1900, J. Frank Bodine and his family were living in Camden, Camden County. He gave his occupation as manager of glass works. Rebecca reported that she had borne 4 children, but only 2 were then living. In 1910, Frank J. Bodine and his family were living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where Frank now worked as bookkeeper for an ice company. Rebecca stated that she had borne 3 children of who 2 were then living. Frank and Rebecca Bodine were still living 1920 in Philadelphia, but Frank, reporting his age as 73, was now retired. The Gloucester County "Democrat" of 26 April 1923 reported the funeral last Friday [20 April] of Frank Bodine of Camden, New Jersey, formerly of Williamstown, New Jersey.

From the Pennsylvania Death Certificate of Rebecca S. Bodine, married, born 10 Sept 1849 in NJ, dau. of Richard & Sarah (Mull) Brown; died 3 April 1922 in Philadelphia and was buried in Berlin, NJ.

From the Pennsylvania Death Certificate of Frank Bodine, widowed, born 30 June 1846 in the U.S., son of William H. Bodine; died 13 April 1923 in Philadelphia and buried in Camden, NJ. Frank Brown of Philadelphia, informant.
