Notes for: Cedric Austin Bodine
There was a Cedric A. Bodine boarding in the house of Elizabeth Sheridan in Philadelphia. See the 1910 Census for that city. He was 20 and had been born in New Jersey. There is also a Charles Bodine listed in that house. He was the son-in-law to Elizabeth Sheridan. Charles was 25 and had been born in Pennsylvania.
H. Keith Bodine said Cedric was an undertaker who resided in Kingston, NJ.

In 1910-1920, Cedric Bodine was living with his mother and siblings in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and employed there in 1910 as a bookkeeper for a wholesale bakery and 1920 as an embalmer. On 5 June 1917, he registered for the World War I draft in Philadelphia. Nellie (White) Bodine was the daughter of Christopher S. and Hannah M. White. In 1930, he and his family were living in Kingston, Middlesex County, New Jersey where he was engaged as an undertaker. He registered for the World War II draft in 1942 as a resident of Kingston and owner of the Bodine Funeral Home there. Evelyn (Hotalen) Bodine was the daughter of James Bennett and Elizabeth (Heater) Hotalen.

The Gloucester County Democrat of 7 Nov 1918 published an obituary that also noted Mrs. Cedric Bodine died of consumption at her father's home in Philadelphia.

KINGSTON--Mrs. Evelyn Hotalen Bodine, 76, a retired educator, died Thursday while vacationing at her summer cottage in Houlton, Maine. She lived at 8 Euclid Avenue here and had been ill for a short time. Born in Milford, Pa., Mrs. Bodine was principal of the Kingston Grammar School for 30 years. She was a member of the Kingston Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her husband, Cedric A. Bodine, a retired funeral director in Kingston; two sons, Ernest C. of Houlton, Me., and Paul K. of Absecon; two brothers, Fred Hotalen of Dingman's Ferry, Pa. and E. Paul Hotalen of St. Petersburg, Fla., and four grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 from the Mather Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton, with the Rev. Clarence Brixey officiating. Interment will be in the Hainesville Cemetery, Hainesville. Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

KINGSTON---Cedric A. Bodine, who operated the Bodine Funeral Home at 8 Euclid Avenue for 32 years, died Wednesday in a nursing home in Atlantic City. Born in Williamstown, he was a member of Apollo Lodge 156, F & AM of Cranbury, and was a former member and elder of the Kingston Presbyterian Church. Husband of the late Evelyn Hotalen Bodine, he is survived by two sons, Ernest C. of Houlton, Me., and Paul K. of Absecon; three brothers, H. Keith of Pennsauken, John of Colora, Md., and Francis F. of Tullytown, Pa., and five grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mather Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton, with the Rev. James I. Mechem and Richard McAfee officiating. Interment will be in Hainesville Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Apollo Lodge will have services at 8.
