Notes for: Verba A. Bodine
I originally had her married to a Mr. Trout. Ronny Bodine said that Verba was single and living at home in January 1920 and then was married to Howard Latimer the next month. This information about a marriage to Mr. Trout must be a mistake.
From Ronny Bodine:
From New Madrid County, Missouri Marriage Records:
1st - Edward Trout of Pt. Pleasant, New Madrid County AND Verb Bodine of Pt. Pleasant were married 21 April 1915 at Pt. Pleasant by T. F. Henry, J.P.
2nd - Howard J. Latimer of Marston, New Madrid County AND Mrs. Verba Trout of Marston were married 14 Feb 1920 at Marston by Frank Haubold, J.P.
Edward Trout may have died soon after their marriage as there is no record of his registration for the World War I Draft in 1917-1918, nor thereafter.
From California Death Records:
Howard Joiner Latimer, born 15 March 1891 in TN, died 31 May 1978 in Santa Barbara County. [Note: His middle name was correctly spelled Joyner, as per his Tennessee Delayed Birth Certificate.]
Burials in Mounds Park Cemetery, Howardville, New Madrid County, Missouri.
