Notes for: John William Bodine, Sr.

I had been thinking that he could be the son of James Bodine (BK#16752), but I didn't have any proof. James is the son of James B. and Elizabeth Bodine. I thought this because George Washington Bodine, son of James Bodine and Mary Green, married Mary Susan Wells' sister, Martha Wells. However, this John and that George would not have had the same mother. Ronny Bodine lists this John William Bodine as the son of William Bodine and Martha McWright.

I later found this family in the 1880 Census of McClellan, Jefferson Co., IL. John is a farmer, age 27, and born in IL. Both his parents were born in TN. His wife, Mary, is 23 and born in IL. Her father was born in IL. The mother's birth place may not be readable or it is not listed. One son, Terry (should be Perry), is listed. He is one year old and born in IL.

This family comes from the McLaurin web site. See www.my-ged.com for more info. The contact person is Rex McLaurin at rexmclrn at door.net.
