Marie "Murry" R. Monaghan, 82, of Midland (formerly of Beaverton), passed away at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. She was born in Timber Lake, South Dakota, on Oct. 19, 1931, the daughter of Mark and Anna (Toczek) Bodine. She married Charles Monaghan on Aug. 19, 1950 in Auburn, Washington. He predeceased her in 1978. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1969, previously residing in Washington State, and she was a member of Our Lady of Grace-St. Anne Church in Edenville and Gladwin County Bible Study. She was a Paraprofessional at the Education Training Center, a volunteer for Gladwin Hospice, and was on the Board for the Department of Human Services. She was an Avon Representative and received Presidents Club status for her efforts. She is survived by her 10 children, C. Mike (Sheila) Monaghan of Keizer, Oregon, Steven (Carole) Monaghan of Gladwin, Clifford (Adrianne) Monaghan of Covington, Louisiana, Tim (Teresa) Monaghan of Indian River, Cathi (Bart) Quider of Beaverton, Audrey (Mike) Wendt of Hope, Martha (Jim) Perkins of Blanchard, Diane (Roger) Colvin of Beaverton, Pamela (William) Jeruski of Saginaw Township, Tammi (Jon) Jackoviak of Manistee; and Honorary daughter, Barb (Jim) Williams of Beaverton. She was blessed with 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Lorraine (Bill) Hine of Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, George and James Bodine; and sister, Helen Clinkingbeard. Funeral Services were conducted by Father Dan Fox on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace-St. Anne Catholic Church, Edenville. She was laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery, Hope. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider Hospice of Gladwin.
