Notes for: Charles W. Bodine
The names and ages of Harmon, Elizabeth, and Charles come from the 1860 Census of Morris County. Further information from FamilySearch.com lists more children for this Charles, but his wife is said to be a Hannah Ammerman. The other children were Wesley (b. 1/18/1854, of NJ), Hannah (b. abt. 1855, of NJ), and Isaac (b. 9/13/1856, of NJ). See dates below for more. It's pretty confusing. I'll list Charles with two wives, but these may be separate Charles Bodines.
I later found this Charles and Susan C. Bodine in the 1880 Census of Chester, Morris Co., NJ. He is a farmer, age 59, born in NJ. Both of his parents were also born in NJ. Susan C. Bodine is 42 and born in NJ, as well as her parents. Children listed are Westley, Elizabeth, John, and Minnie.
From Ronny Bodine:
At the time of their marriage in 1860 this couple was recorded as Charles Bodine, 39, son of Garret & Lucy Bodine and Susan C. Prall, 33, daughter of John and Barbara Philhorn (sic). Susan was the daughter of John and Barbara (Apgar) Philhower and the widow of John Sutton Prall who had died 18 Sept 1855 in Trenton, Mercer County. Charles, Hannah and Susan Bodine were buried in Peapack Union Cemetery, Gladstone, Somerset County, New Jersey.
