In 1930, John W. Bodine, a retired painter, age 81 and divorced, lived by himself in Flint Township, Benton County, Arkansas. In 1900, Olive Bodine lived in Creston, Union County, Iowa with her 4 children. She reported she was widowed and had borne 4 children, all living. In 1910, Olive Bodine, age 51 and divorced, lived in Chicago with 3 of her children. She reported having borne 4 children all of whom were living. In 1930, Olive Bodine lived with her son C. A. Bodine in Chicago, reporting she was widowed. Olive was the daughter of Jesse Alan and Adeline (McVey) Zickefoose. She was buried in Chariton Cemetery, Lucas County.

John W. Bodine, 84 years old, more familiarly known to the residents of this community as "Uncle Jackie," died at 12:35 o'clock Saturday morning at the St. John Hospital, lola, Kansas, following an operation. Mr. Bodine had been in ill health for several months but was reported as improving, the end coming as a shock to friends and relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of his daughter Mrs. Mary E. Wolf, in lola. Kan. He is survived by four children: Mrs. Jennie Olive Jacobs, Ames, Iowa, Mary E. Wolf, lola, Kan., Charles A. Bodine, Chicago, Ill., and J. C. Bodine, Evanston, Illinois.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wolf left today for Chariton, Iowa, where they were called by the death of Mrs. Wolfs mother Mrs. O. A. Bodine. Funeral services for Mrs. Bodine will be held tomorrow afternoon.
