Notes for: Catherine Jane ("Jennie") BoDine

In 1850, she was Catharine J. Bodine, age 3, but was Jane or Jennie Bodine in subsequent censuses. In 1880, Jennie Bissell, age 32 and reporting she was married, lived with her parents in the home of her grandfather Abram Van Doren in Ovid, Seneca County.
The marriage record of Charles Bissell to Catherine Bodine remains elusive. It is not included in the Illinois State-wide Marriage Index and the couple also does not appear in the 1870 census. Their daughter, Harlena, according to her 1947 Tennessee Death Certificate, was born 10 Nov 1869 in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois naming Gordon Charles Bissell and Jennie Bodine as her parents.

Jennie C. Bissell, age 42, on 30 Nov 1889 in Evansville.
From the Virginia Death Certificate of Gordon C. Bissell, 76, widowed, died 21 Aug 1923 in the National Soldier's Home, Elizabeth City, buried in National Cemetery of Virgina.
