Charles H. Bodine, born 23 July 1851 in New York, died of pneumonia in London Township, Monroe County on 12 Feb 1917. His parents were Louis Bodine and Maria Reed, both natives of New York. The information was provided by Claude Bodine of Maybee, Michigan.

Charles Henry Bodine died at his home Feb. 12th after an illness of two months from a complication of disorders, which terminated in pneumonia. He was born at Campbell, Steuben Co. New York, July 23rd, 1851. He was married in Buffalo, New York to Maria A. Nogar, daughter of the late Russel Nogar of Dundee and later resided in Petersburg, Sept. 23, 1877. From this union nine children were born, five sons and four daughters, one daughter died in infancy at the old homestead. He has been a strong robust man, living in the opean a great deal and associated with the Nogar mills and later with Mr. Nogar in the road construction work near Ida and Petersburg. Those from away to attend the funeral were Edward Nogar and his wife from Samaria, Core Nogar, his wife and daughter from Dundee and Arthur Nogar from Ida.

After an illness of two months Chas. Henry Bodine died at his home Feb. 12th, at the age of 65 years 6 months and 19 days. He was born in New York July 23rd, 1851. He has lived at this place for 39 years. He leaves to mourn his departure a wife 3 daughters and five sons, Mrs. John Kellie, John of Detroit, Claude, Harry, Grace, Dott, Ben and Curtiss at home. Funeral services were held from the Congregational church Thursday afternoon. Rev. Obee of Adrian officiating. Interment in N. Side Cemetery.

MAYBEE, April 24---Mrs. Marie Adaline Nogar Bodine, aged 81, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at her home one and one-half miles west of Maybee. Death was caused by the infirmities of age. The oldest daughter of Russell and Ruth Ann Nogar, she was born at Curticeville, New York, on May 7, 1857. On September 29, 1876, she was married to Charles Henry Bodine at Tonawanda, New York. They came to Michigan in 1878 where they located on a farm in Raisinville township. They moved to the present home in 1895. Mrs. Bodine was active in community affairs until her health failed five years ago. She is survived by eight children, all residing in Maybee. The five sons are Claude, Harry, John, Benn and Curtis; three daughters, Grace and Dott, at home, and Mrs. Rose Kellie; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Parley Nogar of Erie and Harrison Nogar of Lambertville; and one sister, Mrs. Charles Nelso of Jackson. Mr. Bodine died in 1917 and a daughter Netta died in infancy. Services in charge of the Liedel funeral home were held at the residence at 2 o/clock this afternoon with the Rev. Mr. Wolfe of Ypsilanto officiating. Burial was in the Northside cemetery at Maybee.
