From Steuben Farmers Advocate (Bath, N.Y.): Marriage of Lewis Bodine and Maria Read at Mud Creek, New York on 13 April 1840.

The name of his 1st wife, Maria Reed, is also stated in the 1917 Michigan death certificate of Charles H. Bodine.

1855 Erwin, Steuben Co., NY: Lewis BODINE 34 NY, Mariah 29 wife, Adaline 13 child, Mary 6 child, Charles 3 child, Ruth Ann 9/12 child. This census recorded the exact places of birth: Orange County for Lewis, Mariah and Adaline, Yates County for Mary, Steuben County for Charles and Ruth.

2nd marriage--1861--SARAH GUSTIN.
Sarah was the daughter of Jesse and Temperance Gustin. In 1850, Sarah Gustin 12, lived in Reading, Steuben County, with her widowed father and siblings Jane 26, George 16 and Warren 6, Ann A. 3, Carity 1.

In 1854, portions of Steuben County were taken to form Schuyler County. In 1855, she was employed as a servant with the Otis Corbitt family in Reading, Schuyler County as Sarah GUSTIN 17, born in Steuben County. In 1860, Sarah Gustin 21, lived with her widowed father and siblings, Charity 10, Frank 7 and Mary 5, in Reading, Schuyler County, NY.

1865 Reading, Schuyler Co., NY: Lewis BERDINE 46 Yates Co. farmer, Sarah 26 Schuyler Co. wife, Charles 14 Allegany Co. son, George 4 Schuyler Co. child, Jennie 1 10/12 Schuyler Co. child. Sarah was trhe mother of 2 children, her 1st marriage, his 2nd marriage.

Mrs. Sarah Bodine, who was visiting her sister Mrs. N. F. Richardson of 467 Powell street, died last night at 8 o'clock. The sister and a son in the west, survive her. The remains were removed to the Harrington undertaking rooms. The announcement of the date and hour of funeral will be made later.

The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Bodine was held at the Harrington undertaking rooms today at 10:30 o'clock. The Rev. C. M. Kreidler of the Disciples church officiated and burial was in Woodlawn cemetery.

The obituary names a sister Mrs. N. F. Richardson. The 1915 NY census of Elmira names:
