It needs more research since this data might also match the George Bodine who is the son of Cornelius Bodine (this John's brother). Note that this part of Schuyler County was formed from Steuben County in 1854.

George Bodine died at some point after the 1880 census. He died intestate and his death was not recorded by the state of New York and the state census of 1892 for Schuyler County is lost. However, he was apparently dead by 1891 as noted next:

Deeds 42: 25. A deed of 4 Feb 1891 from Sarah Bodine of Tyrone and others to Sarah Eveland of Wayne sells a 1 acre and 1/4 acre tract that was deeded to her father Levi Knox. (As there is no mention of her husband, it appears George had died by this time.)

Sarah Bodine died 28 March 1916 in Dundee, Yates County.

Dundee, March 29.-Mrs. Sarah Bodine, 82, an aged resident of this village died yesterday at the home of her son, Lewis Bodine, in Bigelow avenue, after an Illness of several months. Mrs. Bodine was born at southeast Putnam county, March 31st, 1834, and came here with her parents six years later. Besides her son she is survived by one brother, Andrew Knox of Bath. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the son's home and at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the Wayne Baptist church. Burial will be at Wayne.

BODINE--In Dundee, March 28, 1916, Mrs. Sarah Bodine, aged 82 years. She was born in South East, Putnam county. She was a daughter of Levi Knox, who was a resident of Wayne many years. She leaves a son Lewis Bodine at whose home she died, and one brother, Andrew Knox, of Bath.
