Notes for: Mary Ann Bodine
In E. P. Bodine's book, she is listed as Mary Ann Bird. Her children are Eveline Morley, Sarah Ann Howell, Mary Elizabeth Osgood, and Peter Bodine Bird.
On a web page by Gary Welker, he says that this Mary Ann Bodine married a William Martin. They had eight children born between 1831 and 1856. The first four were born in Hunterdon County, NJ and the last three in Athens, OH. This information must be incorrect.
From Ronny Bodine (June 19, 2018):
From the biography of George V. Osgood in Portraits and Biographies of the Governors of Michigan and of the Presidents of the United States, 1885, p. 581:
Our subject developed into manhood in Macon Township and was here married, April 15, 1857, to Miss Mary E. Bird, a native of this township, who was born Oct. 14, 1837. Her parents, Burtis and Mary A. (Bodine) Bird, were natives of New York State, whence they came to Michigan as pioneers. They located in Macon Township, where the mother died July 1, 1839, soon after their settlement. Mr. Bird lived to improve a farm, and was married a second time; his last wife is still living.
