Notes for: Samuel T. Bodine

I had his name as Samuel H. Bodine, but Ronny Bodine has Samuel T. Bodine. I will go with that for now.

He removed to Connecticut (Sinnott, p. 172). LDS had him born in 1820 and 1798.

The H. Keith Bodine manuscript says his death date was not certain. He moved to New London, Connecticut where his descendants may still be living.

From Ronny Bodine:

The Samuel Bodine family were residents in 1850 of Norwich, New London County, Connecticut where Samuel worked as a blacksmith. In 1860, Caroline Bodine, now widowed, was living with her children in New London, New London County. On 14 March 1861 she married Amasa Congdon with whom she lived in June 1870 in the house of her son, Samuel Bodine in Norwich, New London County. By June 1880, Caroline was married to her third husband, George E. Mecan (1826-1904), living with him in Norwich, along with her son Amasa Congdon, Jr. In June 1900, George and Caroline Mecan lived in Norwich. They reported having been married 28 years and that of 7 children borne by Caroline only 1 yet lived. At the time her birth date was noted as March 1831 and that she was 68 years old, but at her death her age was reported as 77. Caroline Mecan survived the death of her 3rd husband on 25 June 1904. Caroline (York) Bodine was the daughter of Parker and Ruth (Pike) York.
