Notes for: Euphany Bodine

Sharon Kletzien at SKletzien@aol.com says James Bodine, Francis' supposed brother, had a daughter Euphemia. She was born about 1775 in Virginia. She married John Burk there and later moved to Sevier County, Tennessee and then on to McMinn County. I have seen this stated by others, too. In 1854, that Effie Bodine was supposedly 73 years old. Her birth year would be about 1781.

Here is correct information on this person from Ronny Bodine (July 7, 2018):

She was named Ephamy Barnhart in the will of her father written 8 June 1821 (New Jersey Wills, File 13232C). According to correspondence of 3 March 1904 between Rebecca L. Bodine and Mary Elizabeth Sinnott, compiler of "Annals..," Rebecca wrote "I don't think my Aunt Euphema ever married. I don't remember ever having heard of it."

Christopher Barnhart was the son of Jacob and Mary (Eslow) Barnhart. Christopher married 2ndly, about 1825 in New York, Lydia Polly Eastman.
