Notes for: Sarah P. Lutz

I wonder if the Sarah Bodine listed in the household of a Joshua Bodine in the 1850 Census of Mellville, Cumberland Co., NJ is not this Sarah Bodine. Sarah also appears to have a daughter named Sarina who was 12 years old. Sarah was 48.

SARAH P. LUTZ, the 2nd wife of Joel Bodine (1790-1849). On 8 May 1851 in Glassboro, Gloucester County, Sarah Bodine married Samuel Hillman, with whom she was living 1860 in Pilesgrove Township, Salem County, New Jersey. He apparently soon died, as in July 1870, Sarah Hillman, age 67, was boarding with the family of Josiah and Rachel Hewitt in Pilesgrove Township. Sarah Hillman was buried in Sharptown Methodist Cemetery, Sharptown, Salem County, where her grave marker reads, Sarah P. Hillman, relict of Samuel, died March 8, 1879 aged 78 years.
