The Githens family lived in Philadelphia in 1850 where Charles worked as a cooper. Charles and Jerusha Githens were buried in South Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia County. See "The Githens Family in America, 1741-1977," by Sherwood Githens, Durham, North Carolina, 1978.

Children: Joel (Feb 1813), Abigail (Dec 1815), George (May 1818), Mary (Nov 1821), Eliza (July 1824), Stephen (Jan 1829), William (Oct 1832).
