I am searching for the parents of Lydia BODINE. What information I have about her comes from GULICKS OF THE U.S.A. by David Emmett Gulick, 1961, p. 194, 195:
Peter GULICK, b. 19 Sep 1762, d. 10 Jan 1837, m. 2nd 4 Jul 1786, Lydia BODINE, b. 4 Feb 1760, d 20 Jun 1837. "She was French and became insane after [her son,] Barnt's death." [by suicide] Their daughter, Ann Bodine GULICK m 2 Aug 1815 in Cranbury, NJ Elbert (or Cornelius) HOAGLAND. I am descended from their son Nicholas GULICK b. 11 Jul 1800, m. Catherine FOURT.
It seems possible that the Lydia BODINE that married Peter GULICK could be the Lydia BODINE b. at Cranbury, NJ, daughter of Vincent BODINE and Ann DYE. Do you have any information that might shed more light on this connection or know of others researching this line?

Dear Dave,
Thank you for the information about the will of Vincent BODINE. I will try to obtain more information from the estate papers and will let you know if I find definite evidence that Lydia Bodine was the daughter of Vincent Bodine.
Today I found a abstract of the will of Lawrence DEY, father of Ann, wife of Vincent BODINE. His will was dated 26 July 1790, proved 9 Feb, 1792 and mentions his daughter Ann, who married a "BURDINE" and had children. He left 1/4 of the amount raised by selling his personal property to the children of his daughter, Ann BURDINE. So, his probate papers may link directly to Lydia BODINE, dau of Vincent BODINE & Ann DEY, b. 1760, m. Peter GULICK in 1786. I will let you know what i find.

See "Gulicks of the U.S.A.," by David Emmett Gulick, 1961, p. 194, 195. Lydia Bodine was the second wife of Peter Gulick. "She was French and became insane after [her son,] Barnt's death [by suicide]." Peter Gulick served in the Revolutionary War. He applied on 11 Nov 1832 and effective 21 June 1833 received an pension for his services. Peter Gulick appears in the 1830 New Jersey census for South Brunswick, Middlesex County.
Children: Ann Bodine (19 April 1787), Vincent (1 Oct 1788), Johnson (26 Aug 1790), Sary (25 July 1793), Katherine (20 Dec 1795), Nicholas (12 Dec 1797), Nicholas (11 July 1800), Maria Emily (9 June 1804).
