Notes for: Vincent Bodine
There is a Vincent Bodine and a Sarah Jerolamen who had a son George P. Bodine born on September 19, 1848 in Richmond, New York and supposedly a daughter, Ann I. Bodine, baptized on June 1, 1846 at St. Andrews in Richmond, New York. That daughter needs checking.
This is the Vincent Bodine buried in the Trinity Chapel Cemetery on Staten Island where his father and grandfather are buried. He was born about October 26, 1817 since he died on July 28, 1854 at the age of 36-9-2. This Vincent was the one mentioned in John W. Blake's will of 1851. He married a Miss Jerolamon at St. Andrew's P. E. Church (Vosburgh's Church Records, p. 102). See Vosburgh's Inscriptions, v. 1, p. 63, too.
Vincent's will was written in either Elizabethport, New Jersey or Staten Island (Book I, p. 550, file 818) on February 23, 1854 and it was probated on February 17, 1862. He names five children. Witnesses were Samuel L. Moore, John Kidd, and John R. Armstrong, all of Elizabethport, New Jersey.
From Ronny Bodine:
Vincent Bodine was bapt. 18 Dec 1817 at St. Andrew's Protestant Episcopal Church, Richmond County. He was buried at Church of the Ascention Burying Ground. His will of 23 Feb 1854, in which he calls himself a resident of Elizabeth Port, Essex County, New Jersey was proved 16 Aug 1854. Therein, he named his wife, Sarah M., and children Willard Henry, Jacob, Mary Elizabeth, Maria Jane and Caroline. Executors were his wife Sarah and John H. Rolston (Essex Co. Wills 2: 510-511). His will was later submitted for probate in Richmond County, New York as well and proved there 17 Feb 1862 (Richmond Co. Wills I: 550). In 1850 he was employed as a steamboat clerk.
Vincent Bodine was married at St. Andrew's Protestant Episcopal Church to Sarah M. Jerolamon, daughter of Richard and Maria Jerolamon. Both Vincent and Sarah Bodine were named in her father's estate administration, for which Vincent was bondsman (Richmond Co. Letters of Testamentary 2: 167). Sarah M. Bodine married 2ndly, Sabin Hatch Trowbridge (1821-1884) on 16 Dec 1862. For her 2nd marriage see Trowbridge, Francis Bacon,. "The Trowbridge genealogy : history of the Trowbridge family in America."
