The Wells family was living 1880 in Elk Prairie Township, Jefferson County. Joseph Wells and John and Nancy Hamilton were buried in South Hickory Hill Christian Church Cemetery, Jefferson County. In 1900, Nancy stated she had been married for 16 years and had borne 8 children of who 7 were then living. The number of years she had been married is clearly in error as the couple had married in 1889. In 1910, both John and Nancy Hamilton stated this was their 2nd marriage. Following the death of Nancy, John Hamilton married Perlina Elizabeth Hester (1852-1933) on 25 Nov 1918 in Jefferson County.
