S. L. Bodine, farmer, of Dalton, Wayne County, born in Baughman Twp., Wayne County, age 32 on 4 Sept 1912, son of James Bodine & Elizabeth Breneman AND Anna E. Rudy, widow, of Dalton, born in Dalton, age 43 on 2 March 1913, dau. of Philip Hoover & Elizabeth Fulk, were married 14 March 1913 by H. H. Hubbell, Pastor, N.P. Church.
In June 1900, Simeon and Susan Bodine lived with their 2 daughters in Lawrence Township, Stark County, Ohio. Simeon, a farmer, reported that in 14 years of marriage his wife had borne 2 children. By April 1910, Simon was a widower and living with his daughter Myrtle in Baughman Township, Wayne County. In Jan 1920, he lived in Sugar Creek Township, separate from his wife Annie, who also lived there, and in April 1930 in Dalton, Sugar Creek Township. Annie E. Bodine also lived in Sugar Creek Township, but reported she was widowed. From 1920 to 1930 his sister, Ora, lived with him. Simon and Susan Bodine were buried in Dalton Cemetery, Sugar Creek Township, Wayne County.

Simon Bodine, 81, died Sunday about 10 p.m. at his residence in Dalton after a brief illness, following a stroke. He was born north of Orrville and lived in this section of the country his entire life. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ada Lehman, of the home and Mrs. Otto Barkman, of Massillon; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Brenneman, of Dalton and Mrs. Adeline Bartels, of East Greenville; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the residence. The Rev. J. S. Gerig, of Oak Grove Mennonite church, Smithville and the Rev. R. G. Pinkerton, of the Dalton United Presbyterian church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Dalton cemetery. The body will be taken this evening to the residence from the Desvoignes funeral home at Mt. Eaton.
