Notes for: Mabel Claire Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

In April 1910, John and Mable Legg lived in Bellmont Township, Wabash County, Illinois engaged in farming. Their household included their daughter Charlene, 1 month old, and Mable's parents, Morris and Edith Bodine. After the death of his wife, John Legg remarried and was living with his 2nd wife Harriet in Holyoke, Phillips County, Colorado in 1930.

On 12 Sept 1918, John Charles Legg registered for the World War I draft in Charleston, Missouri and reported he was born 30 July 1884, worked as a millwright, and that Mrs. Mable Legg was his next of kin.

Hi David,

I was looking at your Bodine website and I have information to share if you are interested. My husband is the grandson of John Charles Legg by his 2nd wife, Harriett Shafer. I have the names and info for the children of John and his 1st wife, Mabel Bodine. I notice you only have their daughter Charlene on your website. There were actually four children: Charles Granville Legg b. 1907 d. 1908; Nadine "Charlene" b. 18 Feb 1910 d. 5 Aug 1998; Mary b. 15 Apr 1915 d. 19 Feb 1994; Cecil b. 30 Aug 1918 d. 18 Nov 2002. I can give you further details if you would like.

Regards
Judy Legg
