William was a Free Methodist minister and retired in the year 1922 after serving as such for 32 years in the North Michigan Conference. His death certificate states L. D. BODINE as informant, naming as William's father a Wessley BODINE who was born in PA. William died from Senility, Paralysis and is buried in Manton Cemetery, MI. The following information was transcribed from the September 11, 1942 Free Methodist Newsletter's Obituary section: Bodine, Emma M. Kent, was born in Metz, Indiana, May 3, 1859, and died August 8, 1942. In 1876 she married Rev. William H. Bodine. To them were born six children. She and her husband were early converted and entered the ministry in 1891, and traveled faithfully and successfully circuits and districts of the North Michigan Conference until age and feebleness forced them to retire. She was a devout Christian and an inspiration to the church. Many were led to Christ through her ministry. Surviving to mourn her departure are her sons, John N., L. D., and Glenn W., all ministers of the gospel and members of the North Michigan Conference, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her funeral was held in the Free Methodist Church at Manton, where a large congregation of friends, including a number of ministers, assembled. The writer had charge of the funeral, assisted by other ministers. Interment in the Manton Cemetery by the side of her deceased husband. We hope to meet her in the morning just inside the gates of pearl. --- J. A. Hudnut.

I see online that you have put together a very nice site for the Bodine family. I'm the family historian for the Blackburn family and I welcome the chance to compare notes with you. [www.blackburn-tree.org] As you may know, you descend from the Blackburns via the McGrews - the second attachment is your direct line of descent from the immigrant Blackburn ancestor. You may already be familiar with this line.

Over the last few days I've been updating the line of Emma Kent and William. The first attachment is a summary of what I now currently have. I welcome your additions and corrections to this summary.
