Notes for: Joseph Fox
He was probably from Greene County, Pennsylvania. He enlisted 1777 as a private in Capt. David Steele's company, Col.Christian Tebiger's regiment of Virginia; also enlisted 1781 in Capt. Robinson's Ranger Company Pennsylvania. He was in the battles of Germantown, Brandywine, Monmouth and Stony Point. He died in Greene County, Pennsylvania (DAR, v. 48, p. 270?). Volume 56 says he was born in Morris County, New Jersey. He applied for a pension in 1832 which was allowed.
