Jas. R. Bodine was born 3 Sept 1875 in Atlantic Township, Monmouth County to William & Mary Bodine. [Note: His obituary notes he was born in Colts Neck, then located in Atlantic Township which name was changed to Colts Neck Township in 1962.]
From Red Bank Register of 19 June 1901: "Miss Kittie Wells, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Wells of Long Branch, was married on Wednesday to James R. Bodine, son of William Bodine of the same place. The ceremony took place at the Star of the Sea church and was performed by Rev. W. P. Cantwell. The bride wore a tailor-made suit of navy blue, trimmed with Renaissance lace. Miss Mamie Wells, a sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore a steel gray suit. The couple went on a wedding trip through New York state."
Robert and Catherine Bodine divorced in 1927.

Catherine Bodine died March 1929 in Long Branch, Monmouth County.

Mrs. Catherine A. Bodine, 51 years old, died on Saturday at her home, 157 Third Avenue. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at St. Michael's Church, and interment made at Mr. Carmel Cemetery in charge of John W. Flock. Mrs. Bodine was the daughter of Patrick Wells and was born at Hartford, Conn. The surviving sister is Mrs. B. F. Woolley and the brother is P. J. Wells, Broadway hardware dealer.

FREEHOLD.---James Robert Bodine died yesterday at the Briar Hill Home, this place. He was 73 years old and was born in Colts Neck the son of the late William H. Bodine and Mary E. Kelfey. He was a painter, and lived in Long Branch all his life. Surviving are a brother Garrett Bodine of Long Branch. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Willis A. Woollet Funeral Home.
