Notes for: Martin ("Mart") Putnam Bodine
Martin Bodine was a farmer. Records in the old newspapers in the courthouse in Guntersville, Alabama show he was a county commissioner at one time.

Martin 'Mart' Bodine gave his occupation in 1870 as farmer and in 1880 and 1900 as miller. In 1910 he again stated he worked as a farmer. At one time he served as county commissioner. In 1900 Nancy Bodine stated she had borne 8 children of whom 4 were then living. Martin and Nancy Bodine were buried in Clear Springs Cemetery. Her death was recorded in Alabama as Mary Jane Bodine.
In the death records for Marshall County, Nancy Bodine is recorded as Mary Jane Bodine, wife of Martin P. Bodine, daughter of Jame Patrick, died 12 June 1921 of cerebral thrombosis from a fall, aged 76 years, 6 months, and was buried in Clear Springs Cemetery.
