Notes for: Robert Thomas Bodine

Phyllis Seelye sent me the names of Robert's four daughters by his first wife, Emma. She thinks that he might have also had more children by his second wife, Mable, but she hasn't been able to find anything yet. Robert and Emma live in Marshall, Texas and four daughters.

I did have that he died in Von Ormy, but that is probably not correct. Ronny Bodine said there was probably no hospital in Von Ormy. He said it was a small town thirteen miles from San Antonio and in 1914 had a population of 350 and a couple of stores. The population in 1946 remained at 350. San Antonio was a city. Any hospital would have been there. Perhaps he lived in Von Ormy, but died in San Antonio.

From Robert Bodine:

In 1900, Robert Bodine and his family lived in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas. The couple reported that in 12 years of marriage Emma had borne 4 children, all then living. Robert gave his occupation as coach builder. In 1910, Robert was living in Galveston, Galveston County with his 2nd wife and working as a draughtsman in an iron works. In 1920, the family were residents of Bexar County. Emma (Phillips) Bodine was the daughter of William M. and Abby Elizabeth (Mills) Phillips. Mable (Lambert) Bodine was the daughter of Alfred and Myra (Kelly) Lambert.
