Notes for: Isaac Berdine / Bodine

Jason Clark also listed Elanora as one of Isaac's children, but he did have a question mark next to her name. Originally, I had Isaac with no parents, but I later found him listed as the son of John and Penelope Bodine. This comes from a message on the Rootsweb Burdine mailing list by Rudie Slaughter at slaughter at earthling.net (working notes on John and Penelope). No sources were given. He and Ann G. are listed in the 1860 Census of Dunklin County, Missouri, p. 935.

From Ronny Bodine:

In Wilson County Chancery Court Minutes, 1847-1853, p. 386, 3 July 1851, Isaac Bodine was one of the 8 heirs of John Bodine, decd, but his share had been purchased by Simpson Bennett, his brother-in-law. Isaac Berdine was a resident of Wilson County, Tennessee in 1840, living next door to Jefferson Berdine. In 1850, Isaac Bodine, age 35, was living with his family in Sumner County engaged as a ferryman. In 1860, aged 48 and 1870, aged 58, he lived in Dunklin County, Missouri where he farmed.
