I believe, although I am not sure, that the following is the signature of this Cornelius Bordine. It comes from New Jersey Supreme Court case number 3964 (Middlesex County) Cornelius Bordine (Bodine) vs Joseph Labateaux from 1805. It is from a bond or something signed December 29, 1804. The other signature is that, I believe, of his father Nicholas Bordine.
Cornelius was named by his father as executor of his will of March 2, 1814. It seems that Cornelius left Nicholas's house to a Dennis Berdine. This house stayed in the will (or family?) until at least 1907.

Subject: Re: Berdine/Bordine/Bodin Family
I have been working on my family tree on the Ancestry.com site & I'm stuck at the Nicholas & Cornelius link in my tree. I have gotten most of my information from research done for a lawsuit in September 1956 between a builder & Cornelius Bordine & c.,et als. over the Berdine's Corner area in North Brunswick. My father's mother was a Berdine & so he was summoned to testify at the hearing. Following is what I know from this information.
Cathaline Viola Berdine Johnson 1873 - 1946..........husband Leslie Phillip Johnson
William H.? Berdine, (her father) 1847 -1906............wife Margaret Sweeney
William Berdine (grandfather) 1822-1869.............wife Cathaline Applegate 1826-1914
Cornelius Bordine(Bodine) 17??-1840...................1st wife Johanna VanDerbilt ?-1815
....................................................................................................2nd wife and mother of Cornelius - Elizabeth (Betsy) Compton ?-?-
Nicholas Bordine(Bodine) 1746-1814.....................1st wife Dinah Van Lewe(Liew) 1750-?
....................................................................................................2nd wife & mother of Nicholas-Ann or Annabel Colcher or Hart 1743-1826
The rest I've taken from your wonderful web site & hope it's part of my family!!!
Jacob Bodine 1719-1748....................................................wife Catherine Bogart ?-?
Jacob Bodine 1684-1765....................................................wife Elizabeth Sebring 1677-1752
John Bodine 1662-1745.....................................................wife Mary Crocheron 1660-1703
Can you help me with any of my blank dates and wife names? It seems that Cornelius & Nicholas are such a stumbing block with so many family lines. However, I am quite sure "my" Cornelius & Nicholas are correct for my line but I'm unsure of wives & siblings.
Thank you for any help or information you can send me.

From Ronny Bodine:
On 28 Oct 1800, Johanna Vanderbilt and Dennis Vanderbilt were appointed administrators of the estate of Cornelius Vanderbilt of Middlesex County. Fellow bondsmen were William Van Dursen and Nicholas Bordine. (New Jersey Estate File 9821L)

Cornelius, lived on his father's place after the latter's death, and died an old man some time before 1850. His sons, who lived and were known in the township, were Abraham, Dennis, and John. Others died early in the present century. Abraham, a farmer and speculator, for a time kept a hotel in New Brunswick, and died of the cholera in 1849. Dennis was a wheelwright, and passed his life at Bodine's Corners, where he died a few years ago. John is a farmer, and lives near New Brunswick.
The Vanderbilt family has become firmly rooted to the soil of North Brunswick by several generations' residence. The first there of the name of whom their descendants have any knowledge were two brothers, Cornelius and Jeromus. (1) Cornelius owned the farm now known as the John Brush place, and died in 1800. He had a son (1) Dennis, and a daughter (2) Johannah. Johannah married Cornelius Bodine. p. 753. Cornelius Vanderbilt died March 31, 1807 and Johannah Vanderbilt died April 17, 1807.
[Note from Dave: From looking at this info online, I think the Cornelius and Johanna mentioned on p. 753 are Bodines, children of Cornelius and Jane Bodine. I know Cornelius is, but I'm not sure about Johannah. She must be.]
p. 744. Cornelius Bodine served on the North Brunswick Township Committee 1816-20 and 1837-39.
p. 753. Burials at the Three Mile Run Burying Ground:
Jane, wife of Cornelius Bordine, May 14, 1815.
1830 North Brunswick Twp., Middlesex County: Cornelius BORDINE males 1(10-14), 2(20-29), 2(30-39), 1(40-49), females 2(5-9), 1(10-14), 1(60-69)
[Note from Dave: According to this census info, Cornelius had other children we don't know about. They must have died young, though.]
Cornelius Bordine left an inventory filed in Middlesex County in 1840 (No. 12004L).
