Notes for: Catherine Butler

This is from the "Guntersville Democrat," December, 1880, "Catherine Bodine died at the residence of her son, William Bodine, age 86 years, November 26, 1880." In 1814, she sold her land grant of fifty acres, which was obtained for James' service, to her son Francis and his wife, Manerva Hester Bodine. Catherine was the daughter of Henry Butler. A grave marker was set in May of 1997 by Thomas Bodine of Arab, Alabama. Someone may have referred to her as "Mary," but we've lost where that reference came from.
