Notes for: Melvina F. Bodine

Melvina is Ron __________'s greatgrandmother's sister. There is a mistake here in her marriage dates. She couldn't have married both her husbands on the same date. Ron may try to clear this up. His email, as of September 2000, was "ront at fls.infi.net".

From Ronny Bodine:

The Alexander family was living 1910 in Fairfax County, Virginia and 1920 in Washington, D.C. By April 1930, Burr (recorded as Bert) Alexander was a widower and living in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Richard and Oliveria Wine. Burr and Melvina Alexander were buried in Mount Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Waxpool, Loudoun County. Whereas the Loudoun County birth records give Melvina's date of birth as 25 April 1859, the date of 27 April 1860 is recorded on her grave marker.

Children: Carl C. (c1886), Lula (c1888), Oliveria (c1893).

Subject: Rev. G.W. Popkins married Melvina F. Bodine

Good Morning,
I was researching Rev. Popkins and a listing came up on your web site stating that Rev. Popkins was married to Melvina F Bodine, but under notes you also have her married to Burr Alexander. May I suggest that Rev. Popkins preformed the ceremony for the marriage between Burr Alexandrer and Melvina Bodine, as he was minister at Mt. Hope at this time, rather than being the husband of Melvina Bodine.
