Hello,

...

2) This page:

freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~bodine/f2471.html

references James Doak Irvin's second wife, Margaret H. Hobbs. Their first son, Marion Williamson Irvin, is my great, great grandfather. A bookish man, who eventually abandoned his family, his eventual whereabouts are unknown. I have inherited his library which includes volumes in Greek, Hebrew, old German as well as complete sets of Shakespeare and Dickens, to name just a few. (He married his first cousin, Annie Elizabeth Irvin(e), who's mother was a Bodine, Amantha Marian Bodine.) I am curious about this man and his motivations and would be obliged to you if you knew of other sources I should access about Irvins, the town of Chaplin, and the times of his life (1857-1900?).

I'm sure you get vague requests like this all the time -- please don't feel a burden to respond in detail. I am just looking for crumbs that I can follow....!

Thanks in advance,
Ted Corcoran
