Ralph Burdine served in the US Army 1963-1965. He was later employed as a pipefitter and welder with the Alcoa Aluminum Company.

Ralph Lee Burdine, age 68, of Maryville passed away Monday, December 31, 2007, at the family home. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the 134th Air Force Reserve Unit. He was a Trustee in the Local #6246 and Member of Knoxville Lodge #803 of Woodmen of the World. He retired from ALCOA after 35 years of service. Preceded in death by: Parents, Tim Sr. & Edith Burdine; Son, Stephen Ralph Burdine; Brother, Conley "Ray" Burdine; Sisters, Virginia Bailey and Margaret Galyon. Survivors include: Wife of 47 years, Joyce Burdine; Daughter, Pamela Burdine of Maryville; One brother; Three Sisters; Several nieces and nephews; host of friends. Special thanks to the U.T. Hospice Caregivers and the support of friends and church members. Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Parker and Rev. Shan Bonhan officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
