Notes for: Elizabeth A. Bodine

I did not originally have her as a child of William and Matilda, but she is in the 1850 Census of Jackson, Rush Co., IN for this family and appears to be their firstborn child in that census. She was 28 years old and born in Ohio.

From Ronny Bodine:

It is suggested here that Elizabeth Bodine who appears in the 1850 census in the household (No. 735/740) of Joseph and Margaret Hamilton on 6 September (visiting or employed) is identical with the Elizabeth Bodine who appears with her parents on 10 September in household 796/798. Both families lived in District 97. Despite the recorded age difference of 22 and 28, both women were born in Ohio.

1850 (6 Sept) Rush Co., IN: Elizabeth BODINE 22 OH in household of Joseph Hamilton 45 Ireland & Margaret 32 Ireland.

1850 (10 Sept) Rush Co., IN: Elizabeth BODINE 28 OH with her parents.

Obituary, The Daily Republican (Rushville, Ind.) of 18 April 1908.
After a long and useful life of over three quarters of century, Ezekiel Lockridge passed away this morning at 6:30 o'clock at the home of his son, William Lockridge in Rushville township at the advanced age of 84 years. Mr. Lockridge had been ill since last Monday, when he was attacked for the third time with paralysis, which caused his death. He was one of the few old pioneers left in Rush county, who came here about the time the county organized, and who helped to clear up and make the farms of this county what they are today. He came to Rush county eighty years ago with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Lockridge, from Kentucky, and had made his home here until the time of his death. Deceased was at one time one of the most prominent farmers in the county and had a host of friends whom he had won in his kind, hospital disposition. He leaves four children, two daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Beale, of Princeton, and Mrs. John E. Alexander, of this township, and two sons, Frank and William, also of Rushville township. Two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Mock, of this county, and Mrs. Martha Miller, of Boone county, survive him. His wife has been dead about 35 years. The funeral services will be held at the late residence Monday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. W. Abberly, pastor of the Main Street Christian church. Burial will occur at the Concord cemetery.

Burials in Concord Cemetery, Rushville, Rush County, Indiana.
