Vivian P. Scanlon, 92, a longtime resident of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2001, at the Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Friends may call 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Vivian was born July 14, 1908, in Boone County, MO, to George and Henrietta Prowell. She was a bookkeeper with Columbia Union National Bank for over 35 years, retiring in 1978. She was a devoted member of Fairmount Christian Church. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Scanlon, a grandson, David Mark Bodine, a greatgrandson, Trenton Chase Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Bodine and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Mike Bodine and wife Becky, Dana Collins and husband Tom, Robynn Higgins and husband John, Kerri Henrich and husband Paul, Brianne Martin and husband Jeremy, all of Independence, MO; greatgrandchildren, Jayson, Daniel and Kristine Bodine, Eric and Ryan Collins, Johnny and Clinton Higgins, Ashtyn and Bryan Malcolm, Dustin Henrich, and many other loving children who called her "Grandma."
