Notes for: Malcolm Boone Rawlings

A funeral service for Malcolm Rawlings, 95, of Lamesa will be held on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday June 3, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Malcolm passed away on Friday May 31, 2013 in Lamesa. He was born on October 4, 1917 in Bath County, Kentucky to Boone and Dora (Manley) Rawlings. He married Marijo Rawlings on February 1, 1945 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death in September of 1994. They were married for 49 years. Malcolm loved basketball and was a huge University of Kentucky fan. He and his family moved to Lamesa in the summer of 1964. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his children, Donald Zane Rawlings of Lamesa, Larry D. Rawlings and wife, Sue of Lubbock, and Marty K. Rawlings and wife, Vickie of Lamesa; grandchildren, Bryan Rawlings and wife Talia of Tennessee, Renae Rawlings of Lubbock, David Rawlings of Midland, James Rawlings of Dimmitt, and Amy Rawlings of Lamesa; brother, Edsel Rawlings and wife, Nancy of Lexington, Kentucky; and 2 great-grandchildren. Malcolm is also preceded in death by his parents; and 4 brothers. The family suggests memorials to First United Church in Lamesa.
