Mr. and Mrs. William Howlett, Farmingdale, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Lorana Davenport Howlett, to J. Robert Bodine, son of John W. Bodine, Laurel avenue, Neptune City. The ceremony was performed Friday evening, Oct. 6 in the parsonage of the West Grove M. E. church, by the Rev. William Guffick, pastor of the church.

James Robert Bodine, 28, of 64 Laurel avenue, Neptune City, died early today in Fitkin hospital, Neptune. He is survived by his widow, a sister and a brother and his father, John W. Bodine. Funeral arrangements will be announced from the Fred E. Farry funeral home.

Lorana Davenport Bodine applied for a SSN in Sept 1936 and reported she was born 18 Dec 1914 in Farmingdale, New Jersey. In Sept 1989 she reported her name as Lorraine McLaren Brownell. She died 2 Oct 2005. Her last residence was Jupiter, Palm Beach County, Florida. [Note: In 1942 in NJ, Lorraine Bodine married Robert J. McLaren (1913-1987). Lorana subsequently married James Gordon Brownell (d. 2003).]

Lorraine Howlett Mc Laren, 90, of Keystone Heights, Fla., formerly of Sea Girt, entered into the presence of her Lord on Sunday, Oct. 2. Lorraine, who was born on her parents' farm in Farmingdale, was a longtime resident of Sea Girt and a charter member of the Fifth Avenue Chapel in Belmar. Lorraine was a graduate nurse from Chester Hospital in Boston, Mass. For many years she was involved in the Howell Historical Society, Wall Extention Club, Women's prison ministry at Monmouth County Jail, the Sister's Missionary Class and the clothing ministry of Christian Missions in Many Lands. At retirement, she and her husband, Robert McLaren moved to Riviera Beach, Fla. After Robert's death, she moved to Park of the Palms in Keystone Heights, Fla. Surviving are her three children, Robert McLaren Jr. and his wife Gloria of Jupiter, Fla., Janet Sencen of Sunbury, Pa., and Dr. Ross McLaren and his wife Shaolu of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fifth Avenue Chapel, Fifth Avenue and B Street, Belmar. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Fifth Avenue Chapel. Burial will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park, Highway 33, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund of C.M.M.L., P.O. Box 13, Spring Lake, NJ 07763. Kedz Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.
