Notes for: Charles B. Bodine

I believe he is listed as a farm laborer in the 1860 Census of Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. He is found in the house of Seymour and Susan Stratton. He is age 20 and born in Pennsylvania.

The following sent to me by Ronny Bodine on Sept. 12, 2020 must also apply to this Charles Bodine. He was with his brother George Bodine in Kansas:

1865 (13 June) Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., KS: Geo. R. BODINE 30 PA grocer, Annette 20 IL, Luther F. 1 KS, Charles B. BODINE 23 PA clerk

From Ronny Bodine (Sept. 13, 2020):

Charles B. Bodine, 21, enlisted on 5 July 1861 in Elmira, New York for a 2-year period, in Company H, 35th New York Infantry Regiment and was mustered out on 5 June 1863.

1865 (13 June) Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., KS: Geo. R. BODINE 30 PA grocer, Annette 20 IL, Luther F. 1 KS, Charles B. BODINE 23 PA clerk

It is not known if Charles died at Fort Scott and his remains were sent back home by train to Wellsboro or he died at Wellsboro on a visit.

Burials in Prospect Cemetery, Mansfield, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
