An article in 1952 about his 92 birthday (Courier News (Plainfield, NJ), 12/20/1952) says he was living with his daughter, Mrs. Goldson Young, at 218 Grant Avenue in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Mrs. Laura J. Bodine, wife of William C. Bodine, died at her home on Jackson avenue, last evening. She was taken with a severe cold on Tuesday which rapidly developed into pneumonia and she grew worse despite the best medical attention. Mrs. Bodine was in her thirty-seventh year and was very well known on both sides of the brook. She was the daughter of Thomas MacDonald, of Jackson avenue and leaves six daughters, Kate, Annie, Laura, Elsie, Beatrice and Mabel, all of whom are at home. The funeral will be held from her late home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

William C. Bodine, 99, formerly of 937 W. Fifth St., died yesterday (March 1, 1961) in a hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a carpenter. Mr. Bodine was born in Sergeantsville and came to the Plainfield area at the age of 10. He worked with various lumber companies and builders, but stayed longest-30 years-with the Alexander Milne Company, builders. He retired from that job many years ago, but remained active in the carpentry trade until about three years ago. He told a Courier-News reporter on his 92nd birthday: "Work is a medicine. You have to keep working if you want to stay healthy." Mr. Bodine was a member of Local 155 of the Carpenters Union, and served as its president about 50 years ago. He also was a member of Trinity Reformed Church. Mr. Bodine was the husband of the late Mra. Laura MacDonald Bodine. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elsie M. Hammond of 111 Parkview Ave. and Mrs. Annie T. Miller of 1216 W. Fourth St.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Lorenz A. Proli, pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, North Plainfield. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. tomorrow.
