Dear Mr. Bodine:

I wanted to thank you for posting data on the family noted above in your site. I am related to Eliza Horner, wife of William Bodine (1840-1914). Eliza is a descendant of my ancestor, Frederick Weaver, who died in 1782 in Pilesgrove Twp., Salem Co., NJ. I have been tracing Frederick's descendants as a supplement to a series of articles for publication about the early generations of the Weavers. Your site was very helpful, and I was glad to find it. If by chance you have any contacts with the William and Eliza (Horner) Bodine family, I would be glad to get in touch with them to share what I know about Eliza's ancestry.

Meanwhile, I did want to let you know about one error in your data, and also ask a question:

In your site, you include a daughter Alice G. Horner (born Sep 1877) in this family based on the 1900 Census. However, Alice was William's and Eliza's daughter-in-law (as is shown in the census record). You do show Alice again (correctly) as Alice Grace Bancroft (born about 1878) with her husband William H. Bodine. I thought you would like to make that correction in your database.

Also, you list the father William Bodine, Civil War veteran, with a middle initial "H." I haven't seen his name this way in census and military records, though I have not seen his gravestone or checked his death record. I wondered if you might check your files to see what documentation there is of a middle initial.

Hope to hear from you, and thanks again for making your research available.

P.S. I meant to tell you that Eliza (Elizabeth M.) Horner, wife of William Bodine, was that daughter of Andrew and Mary B. (Mayhew) Horner of Stow Creek Twp., Cumberland Co., NJ. -Joe

Another P.S. (sorry!): The 1900 Census does indicate that Eliza (Horner) Bodine had been mother of 4 children, of whom 3 were then living. So there was a fourth child who had died young. But I don't know the name or vital dates. The parents were married 10 Sep. 1867 in Roadstown, Cumberland Co., according to familysearch.org 's index to NJ Marriages. I haven't check the original marriage record yet.
