ATHENS---Charles V. Bodine, 74, of 6700 W Drive S, died Monday at Community Hospital, Battle Creek, where he had been a patient since April 13. He was born in Kalkaska and moved to the Union City/Athens area in 1942. He served in the Army in World War II. He retired from Coldwater Foundry in Coldwater in 1974. He was a member of the American Legion in Lansing. His wife, the former Hazel Guthrie, died in 1981. Surviving are a son, Charles V. Bodine Jr. of Union City; two grandchildren' and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Spencer Funeral Home.
