Kathryn Irene Glascock, the namesake of the Mt. Holyoke College Glascock Poetry Competition has apparently close ties to some of the Ralls County, Missouri Glascocks. Kathyrn is the daughter of Hugh Grundy Glascock and Etta Bodine Woods (another source lists her as Ella Bodine Woods). Etta or Ella is the daughter of Richard Woods and Margaret Bodine. Kathryn was born in 1901. Kathryn graduated from Mt. Holyoke College and died soon afterwards on February 23, 1923. There is a poetry contest in her memory at Mount Holyoke College.

Hugh G. Glascock was an educator. Listed in Who's Who in America, Volume 13, 1924-5, page 1313. Headmaster of Culver Military Academy in Indiana for a time. Hugh was from Monroe City, Missouri. Hugh is the son of French Glascock Jr. & Lucretia "Lucy" Muldrow. French Jr. is the son of Asa Glascock (Asa, the son of Gregory Micajah Glascock & Jemima Dulin) and Anna Glascock (Anna, the daughter of Hezekiah Glascock & Sarah Stephens). So Kathryn has at least two Glascock lines.
