Edward A. Berdine, 77, former resident of the Hebron and Lowell areas, died Tuesday at Lakeland, Fla., where he resided for three years. He was born Sept. 23, 1897 in Lowell and was retired from the Grover Tank Works, Chicago, and the Operating Engineers Union. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Holy Name Society. Surviving besides the widow, Josephine, are a son, Edward C. of Lakeland; a brother, Clarence of Leesburg, Fla.; two sisters, Florence Lamphier of Detroit and Clara Lawrence of Valparaiso; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Sheets Funeral Home, Lowell, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Edward A. (Josephine) Berdine, 78, former resident of Lowell and Hebron areas, died Wednesday in Porter Memorial Hospital. She had been a resident of Lakeland, Fla. the past three years, but had been residing at Whispering Pines Nursing Home since the death of her husband, Edward, last week. Survivors include a son, Edward C. of Lakeland; a sister, Mrs. John (Catherine) Schrum of Lowell; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Lowell, with the Rev. Matthew Spebar officiating. Burial will be in St. Edward's Cemetery. Friends may call at Sheets Funeral Home, Lowell, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. Friday.
