CHARLOTTE M. NIMETZ Grovertown, Indiana/ formerly of Calumet Twp Age 84, passed away Monday, May 9, 2005. Charlotte was a member of the Methodist Church in Walkerton, Indiana. Preceded in death by son, Gerald Nimetz; and 6 brothers and sisters. Survived by husband, Eugene; and two children, Alan (Phyllis) Nimetz of Highland, Indiana and Laura (Wayne) Laucis of Grovertown, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, Derek, Amy, Ryan, and Ricque Nimetz, Neal Andersen, Lindsey and Nikki Laucis; daughter-in-law, Katherine Nimetz of Oklahoma; one sister, Janet Barenie of Plymouth, Indiana; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service Friday, May 13, 2005, 11 a.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway Merrillville, with Rev. Mark Wilkins officiating. Burial will be at Ross Cemetery in Calumet Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday May 13, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

Nimetz, Eugene "Gene" Age 89, of Plymouth, formerly of Calumet Township, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013. He was born November 1, 1923 to John and Ida (nee Thone) Nimetz. Gene is survived by son, Alan (Phyllis) Nimetz; daughter, Laura (Wayne) Laucis; daughter-in-law, Kathy Nimetz-Clarady; grandchildren, Ryan Nimetz, Rique Nimetz, Neal Andersen, Derek (Sarah) Nimetz, Amy Nimetz (fiancé, Nathan Wolfe), Lindsey Laucis and Nikki Laucis; great-grandchildren, Arden Nimetz, Dylan, Hilzley and Harrison Nimetz. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte (nee Berdine) Nimetz; son, Gerald Nimetz; sisters, Evelyn (Cyril) Schaefer and Pearl (Herbert) Book; brothers, Harold (Marcia) Nimetz, John (Mildred) Nimetz, and Leonard Nimetz. Gene was a former member of The First United Methodist Church of Griffith, IN. He was previously employed at Gary Screw and Bolt of Gary, IN, Ancilla Domini Convent of Donaldson, IN and PEPSICO Inc. of Munster, IN. Gene retired from PEPSICO in 1985. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410, with Pastor Tom Shanahan officiating.
