OLIVER MAX BERDINE ''MAX'' Age 91 of Jensen Beach, FL, formerly of the Calumet Twp area, passed away Sunday, July 18. 2004 in Merrillville. He was a retired employee of US Steel & former member of Griffith Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver & Gertrude Berdine, brothers, Harry & Donald; sisters, Fondalete, Beaulah & Leanna. Max ix survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris of Jensen Beach, FL; 1 son, Larry (Kathleen) Berdine of Merrillville; 3 grandchildren, James Berdine of Atlanta, GA, Melissa (Michael) Casler of Westville, Patrick Branson of Merrillville; 3 great grandchildren, Karly, Jacob & Noah Casler; 2 sisters, Charlotte (Gene) Nimetz of Grovertown, IN, Janet Baranie of Plymouth; numerous nieces, nephews, & good friends. Funeral services Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville. Rev. Richard S. Brown, officiating. Cremation to follow a visitation which will be held Wednesday from 1 p.m. unil the time of services at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

DORIS J. BERDINE (nee RANDHAN) Hobart, Indiana /formerly of Calumet Township and Jensen Beach, Florida Age 93 passed away Friday, August 18, 2006. Doris was a former member of the Griffith Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Berdine; parents, Edward & Effie Randhan; sister, Mamie and brothers, Jacob, George, James, Rob and Lou. Doris is survived by one son, Larry (Kathleen) Berdine of Merrillville; 3 grandchildren, James (Kerri Bender) Berdine of Atlanta, Georgia, Melissa (Michael) Casler of Raymore, Missouri, Patrick Branson of Merrillville; three great grandchildren, Karly, Jacob and Noah Casler of Missouri; one sister-in-law, Janet Baranie of Plymouth, Indiana; one brother-in-law, Eugene Nimetz of Grovertown, Indiana; many nieces and nephews and good friends. There will be no visitation and upon Doris' wishes she was cremated. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Horton VNA Hospice Center, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383. Geisen Funeral Home, Merrillville, in charge of arrangements.
