Notes for: Charles Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

Charles Bodine was living 1830-1840 in Chesterfield Township, Burlington County. In 1830, as Charles Bodine Senr., he was shown to be aged 50-60 as was his wife. One male 20-30 and one female under 5 composed his household. In 1840, he was shown to be aged 60-70 and as no female of a similar age was recorded, it is apparent that his wife Margaret was already deceased. Two males aged 30-40 and one female aged 30-40 composed his household. In 1850, he was living with his son Charles in Bordentown and was recorded as Charles Bodine Senr. and still working the trade of a shoemaker. The Bordentown "Register" of 6 Nov 1857 reported "Charles Bodine has opened the New Boot, Shoe and Trunk Establishment under the Register offices." The Burlington County Death Records noted he died aged 88. He was buried in Bordentown Cemetery. Mary Elizabeth Sinnott in her "Annals..." names the following five children.
