Notes for: Frank Earl Bodine

He does not appear to be mentioned in the 1860 Census of Austin, Mower Co., MN. I wonder if he was born after 1860.

According to Frank Bodine (b. 1882), he was the youngest boy. I found a Harry R. Bodine in the California Death Records who had a mother with maiden name "Creegan." He was born August 12, 1893 in Michigan and died on May 2, 1968 in Tulare Co., California.

I have an obituary that was sent to me about this Frank Bodine. He died at the age of 94 while living in Visalia, Tulare Co., CA. He had lived in Tulare for over 35 years. He was born on January 6, 1860 in Austin, MN. He homesteaded at Artesian, SD and later was a farmer in Pemblina, ND and Detroit Lakes, MN. He was also involved in lumbering and road building in the latter place. He came to CA in 1919 in order to retire. However, he developed a 73 acre walnut grove east of Visalia which was one of the first groves in that area. When he retired, he sold the ranch to four of his sons. When Frank died, he had 40 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
