Notes for: Middleton Thomas

They appear in the Nelson County censuses of 1820 and 1830, at which latter time there are two boys and two girls in the household. The only children listed below are those in the 1850 census of Oldham County or found in cemeteries. (Middleton also married a Lucy, perhaps between 1842 and 1847. Perhaps also of this family is the Ben Thomas, 2nd Ky. Cav., PW 10th Ky. Cav., b. 23 Dec. 1825, d. 9 May 1912, buried in the Confederate Cemetery. at Pewee Valley, Oldham County, Kentucky. Buried in the Caldwell-Thomas Cemetery with Middleton Thomas are Mary C. Caldwell, no dates, wife of William [Caldwell] and Middleton T. Caldwell, son of W. and M.C., b. 12 Feb. 1855, d. 7 July 1855. Given the name of the child, Mary Caldwell may well be the daughter of Middleton Thomas by this name. Seven pages away from Middleton in this census is a James Thomas, b. ca. 1820, with wife Mary, b. ca. 1825, and these children: Albert, b. ca. 1843; Mary, b. ca. 1845; R.M., b. ca. 1847; and Virga, b. ca. 1849.
