He moved to Teague at age six and attended Teague Schools, graduating with the THS Class of 1949 at the age of sixteen. In the mid-1970s, he closed the feed mill, retired from the railroad, and went into re-sale full time. He also raised hogs and cattle. Bodine helped many people through his years in numerous ways. He was well known for visiting the area nursing homes on Sundays for many years and passing out chewing gum and candy to the residents. He loved his family dearly.
