BIG SPRING - Leon C. Bodine, 90, of Ackerly died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in a Lubbock hospital. Service will be at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Ackerly with burial in Trinity Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 18, 1909, in San Augustine and had been a resident of Ackerly since 1926. He was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church and the Lamesa Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Clovis Bodine of Ackerly; two daughters, Rheba Herman of Seminole and Zelda Bilbo of Ackerly; a son, Steve Bodine of Ackerly; a stepdaughter, Wanda Martens of Lamesa; a brother, R.E. Bodine of Hobbs, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Clovis Bodine ACKERLY- Clovis Bodine, 94, of Ackerly, Texas went to be with the Lord October 11, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Ackerly, with Dr. Stan Blevins and Derrick Looney officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Clovis was born January 11, 1918 to Howard and Ballie Wright in the Five-Mile Community south of Lamesa. Her fond memories included riding her Old Paint horse three miles to school. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1936. She married Leon Bodine of Ackerly June 26, 1942, and they were married for 58 years. Preceding her in death were her husband; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Jean Marten of Lamesa, Rheba Herman and husband, Dwayne of Lubbock and Zelda Bilbo and husband, Bob of Ackerly; one son, Steve Bodine and wife, Brenda of Big Spring; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Clovis was a member of the First Baptist Church for 70 years. Her love for children was seen in her serving in the church nursery for many years. Clovis was a talented seamstress sewing for her girls and members of the community. Having lived on a farm in Dawson County all her life, she enjoyed working hand-in-hand with her husband and son in the fields. The family gratefully acknowledges her caregivers, Janie Quintanilla, Lonnie Cantu, BG Baltazar, MGA and TJ Quintanilla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Ackerly, P.O. Box 205, Ackerly, TX 79713 and Charles Stanley's In Touch Ministries, P.O.
